Although the company did make a slew of very reliable and flexible Tractor units for trucks, probably it’s most notable creations are the double-decker buses for London Transport, including the RT of the 1930’s and the iconic British legend that was the Routemaster!
AEC Routemaster
A little far from home, this AEC Routemaster once belonged to Northern General Transport Company, operator of buses in the North East of England around Newcastle, Sunderland and County Durham. Ex-Northern General buses are distinguishable by their forward automatic doors, the only members of the Routemaster family to receive this treatment.
